Yall's Trikes Derby Rules

We are thrilled to announce the Y'all's Trikes Fundraiser first year! Join us for a day filled with exciting trike races, cars, and fun for all. To ensure a safe and enjoyable event, all participants must sign a waiver form on race day and adhere to the derby rules outlined below. Failure to comply with the rules will result in disqualification. We can't wait to see you and your trikes at the starting line!

Derby Rules

General Rules

  1. Safety First: All participants must wear helmets and protective gear (knee pads, elbow pads, etc.).

  2. Starting Procedures: All racers must start from a designated start line. False starts may result in penalties or disqualification.

  3. Course Layout: The course should be marked with boundaries that racers must stay within. Obstacles or challenges may be included.

Conduct Rules

  1. Sportsmanship: Competitors must exhibit good sportsmanship. Unsportsmanlike behavior can lead to penalties or disqualification.

  2. No Contact: Intentional contact between trikes is typically prohibited to avoid accidents and injuries.

  3. Assistance: External assistance during the race is usually not allowed unless specified (e.g., in team relay races)

Technical Rules

  1. Trike Modifications: If modifications are allowed, they must adhere to specified guidelines, such as maximum wheel size, frame modifications, or weight limits.

  2. Inspection: Trikes may be inspected before the race to ensure compliance with the rules.

  3. Repair: Repairs during the race must be done in designated areas and adhere to the event’s regulations.

Penalties and Disqualifications

  1. Rule Violations: Penalties for rule violations can include time penalties, disqualification from the heat, or disqualification from the entire event.

  2. Appeals: Some events may have a process for appealing decisions or penalties.

Event-Specific Rules

  1. Unique Challenges: Some events may include unique challenges or themes, such as costumes, team themes, or obstacle courses.

  2. Special Categories: There might be special categories or awards for creativity, speed, or other aspects.
